“… Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do”

1 Chronicles 12:32
What are these times, and do we know what to do?

When some look at the trouble in our nation, and nations, they see a mess only the second coming of Jesus can fix, they see the anti-Christ coming, they see things are going to get worse, they see the only way out is the rapture.  Their goal is to hold on as things get worse.  They aren’t sure how bad things will get before the rapture, so they might have to hide from society.  They are preparing for a devolving culture.  Some of them are looking for property in a deserted area where they can stockpile resources and hide until the rapture.  This thinking has saturated their faith, their prayer life, and the ability to bring hope and goodness to those around them.  I know I’m describing the extreme of those who have these views but bear with me, I’m trying to shake each reader to abandon all such thinking. There is another way to see what’s become of life.

Yes, culture has drifted far from God and the plans of Darwin and Marx seem to be coming to pass, but could there be another way to look at this situation?

When others look at our situation, they see a coming revival, they see Satan losing ground and his influence being judged.  They see that Satan has created an opportunity for a harvest like no harvest.  They see a people devoid of God are also a people hungry for God.  They see that children who’ve been told there is no God are the ones Father will bring to himself. They see that culture has thrown itself into self only to find its empty.  We are ripe for a move of God! This second view of time and history is how we are challenging you to embrace. This view will influence your faith and fuel you with hope for our future. Not America alone, but the nations will see the glory of God.  This view will lead you to faith-filled prayers. This view will draw upon the authority you’ve been given as a member of the Ecclesia.

The terrible state of things is not a seal of fate against revival and reformation, rather an indication that now is the time for God to move.  Believe it.  Confront and dismiss every voice and thought that would contradict God’s ability and willingness to step in and rescue us out of the darkness.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth  and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Isaiah 60:1-3
