We know Jesus to be the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords. It is ordained that He becomes the central figure of every nation – the desire of the nations – and they will stream to the house of the Lord. These revelations and proclamations will see Him shape culture and affect government. The Ecclesia of Jesus are called to reign with Him. We are salt and light.
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:13-16
He may not possess a physical government or have a legislative building, but the Law of the Lord, the fear of the Lord, the leading of the Lord is destined to guide every government.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
Isaiah 9:6
and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.”
Not only does this broaden our understanding of what Messiah came to do, but it speaks of our purpose as well. Satan seeks to bring forth counterfeit governments bent on harming the people they lord over. Jesus brings peace, liberty and opportunity. The church walked away from government, media, education, finance and so much more thinking the rapture was upon us. This was a grave error, and we were duped by Satan.
We need to pray now for a revival of responsibility to engage with society and bring reformation and restoration. We need a bold people who speak the truth. As you pray during the Daniel Fast, pray over the Church. That this bride, the Ecclesia will respond to her commander. That she will rise up. That she will engage with culture and lead the way back to wisdom. If you have retreated for any reason, repent of your retreat. Ask for a fresh revival and love for broken humanity that would cause you to go back in and help.
