BINDING AND LOOSENING
Have you ever wondered, can things be better? How do we get the amazing realities of heaven on earth?
This is not a foreign concept or delusional idea of your imagination. It’s actually a desire placed within you by God. Jesus even told us to pray that heaven would come to earth.
Matthew 6:9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Getting heaven on earth was a concern of Jesus, so obviously a concern of Father, after all that is the way it all started. Eden was a type of heaven and the blessings of Eden were a type of heaven. So we might conclude that Father must have wanted us to live in a type of heaven on earth or He wouldn’t have started us there. So heaven was here once in the form of Eden. So how do we get heaven back?
Jesus told us an interested principle that is critical to answering this question. It’s recorded by Matthew in chapter 16.
Matthew 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” NASB
This is an interesting verse. Jesus says He would and was about to give the disciples the keys to the Kingdom of heaven.
And we can conclude from the context, He was going to give them the keys to the kingdom of heaven coming on earth.
Then He says that once they get those keys they will be able to bind and loose, with the knowledge and authority of the keys, so as to produce the kingdom of heaven on earth.
Notice the keys are not binding and loosening…bind and loosen is what we do once we receive the keys.
The people of God have received these keys. This is an amazing revelation.
The Kingdom of Heaven come to Earth only when people are involved as the extension of Jesus.
First we understand that we are the sovereign’s over the earth. God has given us the lease on the earth and put us in charge until the lease is over. Meaning God will not do this for us, God will not assert His will over ours. Meaning we must want His will. He brings His will into the earth through us, as we welcome Him.
Psalm 115:16 The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men.
Second we must understand that we transgressed the landlord (Father) and allowed Satan to come into the earth subjecting ourselves to His destructive plans for us and the planet. Under the first Adam we were at war with the Kingdom of Heaven.
Hebrews 2:14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
Third we must understand that the conqueror of Satan is – the man Christ Jesus. It’s through a man that victory came to all mankind and to the earth.
Satan is subdued and heaven is restored when we come into agreement with Jesus Christ. His words are superior. His words are life. His words are the essence of the legal code of the citizen of heaven.
Like the deputy sheriff who learns the legal code of a jurisdiction. The deputy’s job is to bind and loose on behalf of the citizen. The deputy learns what belongs to be legal citizen and that which is against the rights and the privileges of the legal citizen. Likewise, the keys to the kingdom are the things that have been bound and the things that have been loosed – by Jesus the righteous- on behalf of the kingdom of heaven citizen (those hidden in Him). When you learn what belongs to a legal citizen you know what to bind and what to loose.
Here is a list of things that have been bound – (principles, powers and curses which opposed and harmed mankind). Jesus, the perfect man and sacrificial man, has confronted and defeated the enemies of mankind. He did this for us and has given us His name. Now He lives to represent us with His victory. We have the keys to bind hell and loose heaven.
Sickness: 2 Peter 2:24
Poverty and the Curse: Galatians 3:13, 14
Sin and iniquity: Romans 8:3,4
Fear: Romans 8:14-16
Condemnation and failure: Romans 8:31-39
(Every attribute of Satan and his kingdom have been defeated)
Next we look at what has been loosed. Loosed means; given out, made ours, made available, released unto Christ and therefore released unto us. The list includes what’s been given and released upon Jesus. Jesus, because He was the perfect man.
All things for life and godliness: 2 Peter 1:1-3
Every Promise made to the Righteous: 2 Corinthians 1:20-22
Righteousness: 2 Corinthians 5:21
The ministry of Jesus: 2 Corinthians 5:19
Faith, peace and rest: Ephesians 2:6-8 Hebrews 4
Healing of body and soul: 2 Peter 2:24
Abundant provision: Philippians 4:19, John 10:10, 2 Cor 9:6,
Love: 1 John 4:17
Soundness of mind: 2 Timothy 1:7
Goodness and all the “fruit of the spirit”: Galatians 5:22-24
Abundance of grace to reign in life: Romans 5:17
All of this, and more, has been released upon mankind because of what Jesus has done for us in triumphing over Satan. The very nature and essence of Jesus has been released upon the believing human.
We don’t activate the Kingdom of Heaven on earth by petitioning God for the Kingdom of Heaven to come.
Begging and pleading is not the strategy to bring heaven to earth.
Jesus said the strategy is “binding and loosing”.
You have supreme authority over Satan and the Curse!
Use it.
You have the sovereign place of releasing the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
Use it.
